Our many years of experience as a tuna wholesaler at Tsukiji Fish Market form the foundation for the current Nihonkai.
Every day, our staff work to serve our customers fresh, delicious food, believing that our company’s happiness depends on our customers’ happiness.

We take particular pride in our tuna, continuing to insist on high-quality natural tuna while others turn to farm-raised fish.
Making our motto “Real flavor depends on ingredients,” we insist on the best seasonal ingredients from ports around Japan.
A fish’s flavor is greatly influenced by the seasons, as well as the latitude of the location where it is caught.
This is both the challenge and the appeal of running a sushi restaurant.

As president, nothing makes me happier than hearing customers say “That was delicious, I’ll definitely come again!”
I therefore strive to work tirelessly each day, together with all of our employees, to make our customers feel that way.
Though we also run a range of bars, sushi is our bread and butter.
Accordingly, each of our bars also assume responsibility for providing maximum satisfaction to customers through their food, using top-quality ingredients and making all of their food by hand.
It has now been over 20 years since the founding of the current Nihonkai, but we still receive up-to-date fish information from our friends at ports across Japan, and wide-ranging connections built during the Tsukiji Fish Market era.

In the future, I believe we will continue to operate in a simple and honest fashion, dedicating ourselves to offering natural, fresh food.
